Federal Tax Credit

TAX SECTION 25C, NONBUSINESS ENERGY PROPERTY CREDIT
Effective Jan 1, 2023: Provides a tax credit to homeowners equal to 30% of installation costs for the highest efficiency tier products, up to a maximum of $600 for qualified air conditioners and furnaces, and a maximum of $2,000 for qualified heat pumps.

Ducted Air Source Heat Pump with the Cold Climate designation/rating (ccASHP)

  • Natural gas customers - $1,300 total (Like a $300 bonus)
  • Propane/fuel oil/all electric customers - $500 total (Like a $100 bonus)
  • Meets above requirements

  • Has a COP of > 1.75 at 5 degrees via AHRI (currently not available)
  • Balance points MUST be entered on the rebate app
  • Low balance point - the temp, at which or below, only the furnace will run (switchover point)
  • High balance point - the temp, at which or above, only the heat pump will run (furnace lock out)

** When in doubt list the balance point you set during install as the "low balance

          point and enter "N/A" for high on the application **
